Decorating With Doilies: Part 1

Using doilies has got to be one of the cheapest, yet most elegant ways to decorate your parties. I bought a 32 pack of 8 inch doilies from my local dollar store.

You can simply tie a piece of twine, ribbon or thread through one hole of the doily and hang it on the wall as a backdrop.
Here's a simple garland to make that can be hung also as a backdrop or taped to the front of the table.
One way that gets overlooked easily is the method of "collaging" your doilies to make a pretty table covering. (Is "collaging" a word?)
Here's one of my favorite ways to decorate with doilies: Paper clip doilies to a simple paper bag. This can be a pretty wrapping for party favors or to hold sack lunches. You can even use these to line a sidewalk to show guests the way to the party or reception.
I'll be back tomorrow with even more ideas on how to decorate with doilies!

  1. very cute! excited to see part 2!

  2. very clever, and oh so pretty! Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Let's just say that I sorta like comments. A lot.
